Hi everyone. The sun was actually shining again here in Bromley, and it made for a very successful market day. I think it was the first day this year the sun shone ALL day. My customers were more upbeat about the economy, I had some new customers as well as a few regulars. The most memorable sale was a 1980s Christian Dior necklace (pictured), which the customer bought to wear at church this evening as a godparent. She also bought a pair of white freshwater pearl stud earrings and a vintage ring to match the necklace. Gorgeous. I hope she's enjoying wearing them tonight. Next market date Friday 11 June.

It was my first experience selling vintage, and at the start I was on a steep learning curve, but I learnt quickly and did reasonably well. English vintage silver charms were the most popular selling item, probably because of the number of American tourists. It was a very enjoyable day and I am planning to attend another event in the future. I shall be putting more vintage items on my website, and today I have included this beautiful Whiting and Davis red mesh bag.

I am pleased to say that I now have more stock of one of my most popular selling items, the dangly freshwater pearl bracelets. I also have a new design, besides the plain pearl bracelet, with glass facetted crystals, fabulous for a wedding or special occasion. Also a reminder, this Sunday I'm at the Earls Court vintage fashion fair on stand 23, be there or be square!

It was cold, but I warmed up after having some homemade artichoke soup made by a fellow stallholders husband. Vintage jewellery sold well, including a gorgeous silver charm bracelet with a Victorian silver shilling and another vintage American ring. Wooden 'oceania' bracelets were also popular, these always sell well in the summer. Next Sunday 16 May I'll be at the Earls Court vintage fashion fair, stand 23, hope to see you there! Next Bromley Market date 21 May.

It was raining, so what to do with 1 child and 2 teenagers? We got out my old records, 'what is an LP?', well, it's a long player, 'how does a record work?', sort of like a CD! We played Abbey Road (the Beatles!) and my daughter recognised the track 'Come Together' was sung by Ollie on the X Factor! Their favourite record was a 1972 record 'Amazin' Grace' by The Shepherds Bush Comets, there's just no telling is there! We also got out the Argos snooker table, as they're into snooker because of the championships on TV. A good time was had by all, and even Casey the dog got a walk in the park. What did you do on Monday?
