Liberty in Fashion ...

Patterns and textiles have forever been considered a very important aspect of fashion. From chic silk to soft crushed velvet, simple shapes to intricate designs, the type and style of patterns and textiles can instantly change an outfit. Add a sequined scarf to a plain black outfit, and you have suddenly gone from day to night.

The Liberty in Fashion exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum, which runs until 28th February 2016, showcases a variety of textiles and garments from designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Vivienne Westwood. It celebrates Liberty’s 140th anniversary and its role as a creator of key fashion trends. In particular, Liberty Art Fabrics and the textile design studio is the leader in floral and paisley prints. Don’t miss out on your chance to see a glimpse of what Liberty has offered fashion since 1875.
